Start of the Semester
1. How do you envision using art in your classroom?
I envision using art in my classroom by incorporating it into the lessons and being able to give my students the opporturnity to use art in as many ways as possible throughout their learning.
2. What do you know
about integrated learning / integration?
Integrated learning/integration is incorporating different subjects together. A science teacher may use literacy to teach the students about the water cycle by reading a book to them or by having them write their own story about their interpretation of the water cycle.
3. Rate your comfort level in
making art, and discuss.
Uneasy 1 2 3 4 5
Comfortable
Making Art: 3 - I'm in the middle in my comfort level in making art. Making art does not come naturally to me and I don't normally just make art on my own for "fun", but I have always enjoyed any art class I have taken!
4. Rate your comfort level in analyzing and talking about
art, and discuss.
Uneasy 1 2 3 4 5 Comfortable
Analyzing Art: 2 - I don't feel very comfortable analyzing art only because I don't think I am qualified to do so! There are so many different genres and types of art that I just have no earthly idea where to start!
End of the Semester
1. How do you envision using art in your classroom?
I envision using art in everything! Every single lesson that I have completed this semester in art I can incorporate into my future classroom in one way or another. Incorporating art into a lesson helps the student to become more interested in the lesson. I hope to use art in as many of my classes as I can and I hope my students relate a little better to the subjects being studied if they can make it their own through their art.
2. What do you know
about integrated learning / integration?
Integrated learning/Integration is incorporating different subjects with each other. I can integrate art with literacy and music or with social studies or even with math! Integrating teaches multiple ideas at once and helps to bring together the classes and also certain topics if they are being discussed in a few different subjects.
3. Rate your comfort level in
making art, and discuss.
Uneasy 1 2 3 4 5

Making Art: 4 - I'm going to bump my comfort level up to a 4 - but still am not confident in my work completely! Always room for improvement. Next year I might circle a 5? Possible? I think so.
4. Rate your comfort level in analyzing and talking about
art, and discuss.
Uneasy 1 2 3 4 5 Comfortable
Analyzing Art: 4 - I feel so much more comfortable analyzing and talking about art! At the beginning of the semester I really had no idea how to discuss art. Throughout this class I have learned talking strategies such as how to use VTS for my own thinking and in my future classroom.
